Leo Looks Strong, but Privately Fears Letting People Down
Leo really is confident, generous, and fun. But after the party ends, he's often the one replaying whether he did enough.
Kai's birthday party was a hit. More than twenty friends crammed into his tiny studio while he ordered food, poured drinks, and ran the games. The laughter didn't stop all night. At 2 a.m., after everyone left, he crouched on the floor picking up bottle caps and scrolled through the group photos. One friend had left early without saying goodbye. He stared at that photo for a long time, wondering if he'd neglected them somehow.
Being the life of the party is his habit and his shield
Most people see Leo as confident, generous, and fun. All true. But part of why he's willing to stand in the middle and keep the mood up is that he wants everyone to have a good time, and he really dreads the opposite. If a party goes quiet for three seconds, he is already tossing out a new topic.
People ruled by the Sun care a lot about the warmth they bring to others. While he's looking after the whole room, he's also quietly checking: do they like me? Am I doing enough? He just never says those questions out loud.
He's terrified of disappointing the people he cares about
Leo's soft spot shows up most when someone is counting on him. Promise his family a trip abroad and he'll book every single meal. Get an “it's okay” from his boss on a report and he'll go home replaying which slide fell short. His standards for himself are much higher than people assume.
One Leo woman said what scares her most isn't getting yelled at. It's hearing her mom say, “I thought you'd do better.” That one line can keep her up all night, and the next morning she'll still leave for work on time with nothing showing on her face.
He also cares a lot about how others see him. If his boss gives someone else a thumbs-up in the group chat but doesn't reply to him, he'll stare at the screen wondering what he said wrong. He never mentions these little things to anyone. He just replays them alone on the subway home and realizes too late he's missed his stop.
When he's hurting, he hides first
Leos rarely cry in front of others and almost never call to say “I need company.” When he's down, he goes quiet, replies to messages slowly, skips weekend plans saying he needs rest. When he reappears, he's laughing loudly again, as if nothing happened.
What he actually hopes is that someone noticed he was gone. “Haven't seen you this week, so I hung a bag of your favorite fried chicken on your door” reassures him far more than asking “What's wrong?” over and over. He might reply with just a sticker, but he'll remember that fried chicken for a long time.
Remember to look after him too
A Leo is often the one taking care of everyone in the group, so hardly anyone thinks to turn around and take care of him. After he runs an event, tell him, “Thanks for all that work, everyone had a blast.” When he messes something up, remind him how well he did last time. He needs to know you're on his side even when he isn't perfect.
Leo loves seriously, with the same intensity for family, friends, and partners. And people who love seriously are most afraid of not loving well enough. Once you see that, you'll realize some of his loud laughter is meant for his own ears, a way to keep his courage up and hold things together for everyone else.
Every time Byeol Bunny hosts a get-together, he ends up washing cups alone until midnight, wondering who didn't get enough to eat. If you have a Leo like that in your life, stay behind next time and help wipe down the table. He'll say “No, no, it's fine,” and feel warm about it for a long time.
