A Taurus Is Most Relaxed at Home, Doing Absolutely Nothing
After work, Taurus mostly wants to go home. At home they're quiet and slow and may seem distant, but that's when they're most at ease and most open.
At 7:30 on a Friday night, Ivy walked in with a bag of braised snacks and a can of beer. Shoes off, she changed into the pajama pants she's worn for five years, now pilled at the knees, switched on a small warm lamp, and tipped the snacks into her favorite pale blue bowl. She had zero plans for the next two days.
A friend texted to invite her to an exhibition on Saturday. She glanced at it and replied, “Next time! Staying in and doing nothing this weekend.” Then she tossed her phone to the other end of the sofa.
Their home is put together exactly to their taste
Taurus is ruled by Venus and is sensitive to texture, scent, and light. Their place may not be big, but every item is chosen: a comforter that feels just right, a lamp that isn't harsh, a beanbag you sink into, and a body wash they've used for years that smells like safety.
Put together, these things are their sense of security. As an earth sign, Taurus needs somewhere solid to stand, and home is that ground. However busy or noisy it gets outside, once they're back, they can slowly unwind.
A truly relaxed Taurus turns out to be very chatty
Many people think Taurus is quiet and hard to get close to. That's because you're seeing them out in the world. On their own turf, they loosen up and start talking more.
Kevin's college roommate was a Taurus. At school he barely spoke, even in group projects. Then Kevin stayed over at his place one night. They sat on the floor eating the curry he'd made, and he talked about how to choose potatoes, his grandma's guava tree, and everything in between until 3 a.m. “That night I found out how much he could talk,” Kevin said.
A relaxed Taurus can also be very quiet, happy to spend a whole afternoon in the living room with you, each reading your own book without a word. That quiet means they're comfortable. It has nothing to do with being cold.
Why they keep saying “next time” to plans
For Taurus, going out takes preparation. Changing clothes, working out travel time, facing crowds and noise. They quietly weigh whether it's worth it. If the plan is last minute, rushed, or somewhere totally unfamiliar, they'll likely choose to stay home.
Saying no doesn't mean they don't like you. They just know how much rest they need, and the weekend is when they slowly shed the week's tiredness.
Some Taurus even plan an at-home schedule for the weekend: sleep in on Saturday, shop at the market, slowly simmer a pot of soup in the afternoon, then two episodes on the sofa at night. To them this is as exciting as a trip abroad. What looks boring to others is exactly the part they enjoy most.
How to get into their comfort zone
If you want more time with a Taurus, suggest hanging out at their place or yours instead of dragging them out. Bring a snack they love, make a hot pot together, or curl up with an old movie. In a familiar space, they'll be more relaxed than at any trendy restaurant.
If you really want to go out, settle the time and place a few days ahead, ideally somewhere they've been and liked. Give them time to get ready, and they're far more likely to say yes.
Byeol Bunny has a favorite plaid blanket in his burrow, washed so many times its colors have faded. When friends come over, he shares half of it. For him, that's the warmest welcome there is.
