Aries Flaws Are Written All Over Their Face, and Here Are a Few More

Aries rarely hides their flaws: rushing, tuning out advice, saying too much when mad, and one people often miss, not finishing things.

First night in the new apartment, Howard rips open the bookshelf box and tosses the instructions aside without a glance. “You just feel your way through these.” An hour and a half later the bookshelf is standing, but there are three screws and a small wooden panel left on the floor. He stares at them for a few seconds. “Probably spares.”

That scene is a perfect way into Aries flaws. Their flaws are rarely hidden. Most are right there in front of you, and they don't really plan to hide them anyway.

Moving too fast, skipping the instructions

The flaw people mention most is impatience. Booking flights without comparing prices, buying appliances without reading reviews, reading only the first page of a contract. They know they should be careful. It's just that stopping to research makes them feel itchy all over.

Thank Mars for that. Mars pushes them forward, so action always runs half a beat ahead of thinking. The upside is that things never get stuck. The downside is they often have to go back and patch holes. Those three screws? He only found out they held the back panel on the day the bookshelf started wobbling.

Not listening, especially once they've decided

Aries decides fast, and once they have, they don't want to hear objections. A friend warns, “That company doesn't have the best reputation,” and they say, “I'll try it and see.” Family reminds them their scooter needs a service, and they reply, “It still runs.”

They actually are listening. Their first reaction is just to defend. A few days later they may look it up themselves and quietly do what you suggested, without ever admitting it was your idea.

Quick temper, quicker words

An Aries temper usually burns out in ten minutes, but what they say during those ten minutes can hurt. “You always do this.” “Forget it, I'll do it myself.” They forget it right after. The other person remembers for days.

Here's one people don't expect: they're not great at finishing. They're amazing at starting. Japanese classes, a new guitar, their own video channel. Once the excitement fades, it all just sits there. Their home usually has a few half-done projects quietly piled in a corner, waiting to be remembered.

Put all these together and Aries can seem like a handful. But look at it another way: they never put on an act. If they don't like you, you'll know. If they have a problem with you, you'll know that too. Compared with people who are polite to your face and complain behind your back, an Aries is actually less work. At least you never have to guess what they're thinking.

Living with these flaws: address the action, not the person

Because Aries flaws are visible, they're also easier to handle. When they're rushing, don't say “You're just too impulsive,” which feels like a judgment of who they are. Talk about something specific, like, “Let's read page three together before you sign.” They'll take that in more easily.

After they've said something harsh, wait until they've cooled down to talk. Once Aries calms down, they usually apologize without fuss. That's when “What you said earlier really hurt” will stick with them. As for the abandoned hobbies, don't nag. A casual “Still playing guitar?” can sometimes spark another round of serious practice.

Byeol Bunny used to bake carrot cake without ever measuring the flour. He'd just pour by feel and slide it into the oven, and it came out either too dry or totally collapsed. Then he stuck a note on the kitchen wall: “Weigh first, then pour.” His handwriting is terrible, but the cake has worked three times in a row now.
