“The Usual?”: What Each Zodiac Sign Orders at the Breakfast Shop
The breakfast lady starts your order before you even speak? Here's every zodiac sign's go-to order at a Taiwanese breakfast shop.
7:10 a.m. You park your scooter outside the breakfast shop, helmet still on, and the lady behind the counter calls out, “Cheese egg crepe and a big iced milk tea, right?” You nod, and quietly feel that at least one person in this city remembers you.
Neighborhood breakfast shops are everywhere in Taiwan, and almost everyone has a “usual”. Here's what each sign orders and how, plus one small tip each to make breakfast go a little smoother.

Aries: Big Iced Milk Tea, Cheese Egg Crepe, Gone in Three Minutes
Aries shouts their order on the way in. The egg crepe, a thin pancake rolled around egg, is still on the griddle and Aries has already paid. Three bites by the door, then the iced milk tea comes along for the ride to work.
Tip: switch to a medium with less sugar. Same morning boost, less of that sudden 10 a.m. slump.
Taurus: Black Pepper Noodles with Egg, Ten Years Running
The moment Taurus parks, the noodles hit the hot plate: iron-plate noodles, black pepper sauce, runny egg, extra sauce. The menu has changed three times since college. Taurus' order hasn't once.
Tip: keep the shop, add a side of blanched greens or salad now and then. Same favorite, a little lighter.
Gemini: Different Every Day, the Lady Can't Keep Up
Burger today, turnip cake tomorrow, sesame flatbread the day after: Gemini works through the menu on the wall top to bottom. When asked what they'll have, Gemini asks back, “What do you recommend?”
Tip: keep a note on your phone of what you've tried and star the good ones. On mornings you can't decide, pick from the stars.
Cancer: A List in Hand, Breakfast for the Whole Office
Cancer walks out with six plastic bags: hash browns for the manager, unsweetened soy milk for a coworker, corn egg crepe for the new hire. Their own order is the last thing they remember.
Tip: set up a breakfast group chat, have everyone order the night before and leave the cash on your desk. Don't keep covering it yourself.

Leo: Club Sandwich, Hash Browns, Go Big
Leo's breakfast is never simple: club sandwich, two hash browns, hot milk tea, plus a hot dog. The tray is full, and Leo eats slowly at the most visible table in the shop.
Tip: if it's really too much, save half for a 10 a.m. snack. No need to finish it all at once, and nothing goes to waste.
Virgo: The Notes Are Longer Than the Order
Virgo orders a ham and egg toast with a list attached: egg fully cooked, no mayo, toast not too dark, sauce on the side. The lady quietly grabs a sticky note to write it down.
Tip: at your regular spots, stick to one combo. Once they've memorized it, Virgo doesn't have to explain every morning.
Libra: Turnip Cake or Egg Crepe, with a Line Behind
Libra stands at the counter, eyes going back and forth between turnip cake and egg crepe five times. The students in line start checking their watches. The lady laughs: “Why not both?”
Tip: order the combo, like turnip cake with egg, or make a rule: egg crepe on odd days, turnip cake on even days. Multiple choice becomes true or false.
Scorpio: Same Shop, Same Seat, Same Cup
Scorpio is loyal to one shop and even one corner. Black coffee and French toast. If the lady wears a new apron, Scorpio notices first.
Tip: black coffee on an empty stomach can feel rough. Have a couple of bites of toast first; the coffee tastes better too.
Sagittarius: Grab the Rice Roll and Run
Sagittarius always leaves at the last second, rushes in for a traditional rice roll with egg, and sprints for the metro. Then they remember at the gate that eating isn't allowed on the Taipei metro.
Tip: leave five minutes earlier and eat on the little stool outside the shop. Five slow minutes beat five minutes of chasing a train.

Capricorn: 7:05, Tuna Egg Toast and Unsweetened Soy Milk
Same time, same order, every day, so punctual the lady could set the clock by Capricorn. If they're not there by 7:10, she asks other customers, “Where's the daily tuna one?”
Tip: routine is great. Now and then swap white toast for whole wheat or add a tea egg. Same rhythm, more balance.
Aquarius: Ordering Something Not on the Menu
Aquarius asks for iron-plate noodles with cheese and corn, all wrapped inside an egg crepe. The lady pauses for three seconds and makes it anyway. Now the shop has a secret menu item only regulars know about.
Tip: when experimenting, add one new ingredient at a time. Write down the winners, and a miss won't waste a whole meal.
Pisces: Won Over by “Morning, Gorgeous”
Pisces only came for black tea. Then the lady says, “Gorgeous, how about some turnip cake today?” and Pisces adds it. One more “You've lost weight!” and there's a hash brown too.
Tip: decide your order before you leave home and say it straight away. However warm the welcome, you won't end up over budget.
Three Breakfast Shop Tips for Every Sign
Whatever your sign, these three make breakfast easier and more satisfying:
- Choose less sugar or no sugar; milk tea and soy milk both offer it
- Pair crepes or toast with an egg or a soy milk to stay full longer
- Save your regular shop's number and order ahead before you leave
Byeol Bunny's reminder: when the breakfast lady remembers your order, it feels like the city remembers you. Say thank you when you pick it up tomorrow.
A good breakfast keeps the whole morning steadier. If getting out of bed is the real obstacle, read the 12-sign guide to leaving a warm bed first, then decide what to order.
